How to Get Information into Long-Term Memory
PRODUCTION PROCESS
This was created with Camtasia. It is an informational video within a Web-based training for Instructional Designers learning visual design principles.
Visual Design eLearning for Instructional Designers
This eLearning module aims to assist Instructional Designers in comprehending and implementing CONTRAST in their learning designs, resulting in enhanced learner engagement. To access the complete module, click on the image located to the left.
Case Study: An MSIDT Experience
This assignment was to research and write an example of how engaged pedagogy in a digital environment works.

A Video Art Lesson
This art lesson is intended for students from kindergarten to 5th grade. It teaches about Romero Britto, a renowned Pop Artist, and his journey to success. The lesson includes a step-by-step guide on how to draw a landscape inspired by Britto's style. The lesson was designed for volunteer art docents to use when teaching at a local elementary school.

PRODUCTION PROCESS
I recorded this art lesson for art docents and elementary school kids on my iPhone. Using Camtasia, I wove my PowerPoint into the video.
Learner-Paced Designs
In Web-based training, it's important to recognize that people read at different speeds.
Offering the learner control over when they click to the next paragraph not only gives the designer more space to share important text, but it's engaging, seriously, who doesn't love clicking on buttons to see what happens?
Web-Based Training Example
This is my final project for my graduate certificate in eLearning Instructional Design at UC Irvine. My project is aimed towards adult art docents who volunteer for the K-5th grade art docent program that I created. In addition to organizing, producing, and designing the project, I also conducted research, wrote, and recorded all of the audio.
ANIMATED ENTRANCE - WITH SOUND
I aimed to incorporate vibrant colors into the palette. As a tribute to the volunteers who recognize the significance of art in children's growth, I named the course after them.
SCENARIO-BASED LEARNING - WITH SOUND
I strongly advocate for scenario-based learning. By presenting a probable challenge to participants, it prompts them to contemplate how they would react in that specific situation. In case they are unsure of what to do, the information to aid them is readily available in the WBT.
DRAG AND DROP QUIZ
Using a quiz to reinforce material is an effective way for a learner to retain information. By focusing and potentially reviewing the content to find the answer, the information becomes more ingrained in their memory.
Microlearning Lobby Instructions
I made a short video demonstrating the participant's view of a Webinar console. The video plays in the virtual lobby while they wait for the webinar to start.
To create the video, I used Camtasia in the production process.
Ways to Show Process
USING A SLIDER TO REVEAL CONTENT
When there are a lot of steps in a process or a considerable amount of information, I like to find unique ways to engage and disseminate information in a click or slide format. It is easier to understand the material if you reveal it at your own pace.
USING A DIAL TO REVEAL CONTENT
USING BUTTONS AND ANIMATION TO REVEAL CONTENT IN SMALL BITES
